TRAINING

Do your employees know how to operate a fire extinguisher in the “heat” of the moment?

Do they understand the different types of fires and the different types of fire extinguishers available to extinguish those fires?

Are you aware of the hazards created when using the wrong type of fire extinguisher on a fire? we. offer, at your location, live, hands-on training for the proper use of fire extinguishers following a classroom discussion based on your unique situation.

Although hands-on training is not required each year, it is required that all employees have some sort of formal fire extinguisher training each year.

Fire extinguishers are only valuable safety devices when you know how to use them. This is why we offer training in the use of fire extinguishers

IF YOU FIGHT A FIRE, REMEMBER THE WORD PASS...
P
ULL... AIM... SQUEEZE... SWEEP...

Pull5. PULL... Pull the pin. Some extinguishers require releasing a lock latch, pressing a puncture lever or other motion.

Aim6. AIM... Aim low, pointing the extinguisher nozzle at the base of the fire.
Squeeze7. SQUEEZE... Squeeze the handle. This releases the extinguishing agent. Sweep8. SWEEP... Sweep from side to side at the base of the fire until it appears to be out. Watch the fire area in case fire breaks out again, and repeat use of extinguisher if necessary.
